Nina Zand, bA
PRACTICUM TRAINEE
Nina Zand works under the supervision of Dr. Matthew Nozaki (PSY33823), performing therapy and psychological testing for clients of all ages. She graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish and is currently pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School. She conducted research at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) in the UCI Center on Stress and Health, focusing on preoperative and postoperative stress. In addition to publishing her own children’s book about anxiety, she has also published research on a new approach to patients with oppositional defiant disorder.
Nina is passionate about delivering culturally competent care to individuals from diverse backgrounds. Her fluency in English and Spanish, as well as her conversational abilities in Farsi and Hindi, enables her to effectively attend to multilingual clients, fostering a deeper understanding of their needs. She is inspired to help others dealing with mental health issues related to anxiety, depression, phobias, and more. She strives to destigmatize the world of mental health in multicultural households, providing a safe space for each individual to share their experience.
