MEET THE TEAM .

Kayla lim, MA

PRACTICUM TRAINEE

Kayla works under the supervision of Dr. Samira Vafadar (PSY28213) and Dr. Nicole Lightman (PSY28608), providing therapy and psychological testing for all ages. Kayla has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. Additionally, she earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and is currently pursuing her PsyD at The Chicago School.

Kayla has four years of experience working as a Behavior Interventionist providing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adolescents diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and down syndrome in home and school settings. Furthermore, she has been working as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist for the past three years providing therapy to underserved populations, veterans, children and adolescents, families, couples, and adults with various mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and trauma.

Kayla is passionate about integrating a holistic approach using cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused therapy strategies. She aims to provide a space that is authentic, collaborative, and supportive environment where clients feel safe and empowered throughout their journey. She looks forward to building positive therapeutic relationships and continuing to grow as a clinician.
